Mother and daughter

What I really find fascinating about photography is that you can step into someone’s life to document and freeze the moments which then become a memory and as a photographer I am part of the whole process.

I looked through the photographs I shot in 2017 and 2018. It was that time when I worked on my personal project  “Happy Club”. Looking through all my contact sheets, I started to miss the place and people I met. I had to stop the project just over one night and it made me feel really disappointed, angry and sad. I didn’t expect that but sometimes we just have to let go of the things which are not right for us. I really hope to go back to Jaywick one day to continue what I started. Maybe in the future…

Looking back at archives

Yesterday, I spent all day in the darkroom. The day before printing I looked back at my work I shot when I studied photography at Middlesex University.

For some reason, I found some old photographs which I didn’t like at first. When I went through my contact sheets yesterday from the “Happy Club” project, I asked myself “Why didn’t I print that before?”. I decided to start printing all the images I never printed before. It is unbelievable how such a short time can make you look differently at your own images.
